You are the expert in building, maintaining, and improving cloud operations, aren’t you? You also know your way around physical infrastructure and just love turning legacy systems and practices into well-automated cloud-native operations, right? And to top it off, you have a serious passion for helping secure and protect those cloud and physical platforms and want to do it with the best-in-class security organization in the world.

With Whom You’ll Work

As the technical leader of the Talos Infrastructure & Platform Engineering Services team, you’ll work with a highly empowered and collaborative group who is passionate about using data to help secure Cisco’s customers, enable security products, and foster security research.

Who You Are

You are a self-starter who your teammates can depend on being calm, consistent and detailed in supporting and automating production platforms. You also have strong troubleshooting skills and experience in an agile environment. As a result, clients and data engineers can depend on the platforms being there when they need it.

At minimum, we need you to have a BS degree in Computer Science or related technical field and 8+ years of experience in a DevOps environment with experience in deployment and management of containerized applications and infrastructure in cloud and on-premises environments.

In addition to those requirements, you must have proven experience:

  • Active proficiency in software engineering (shell required, Go and Python really wanted)
  • Knowledge, skill, and credibility architecting and maintaining a large-scale production cloud environment using Amazon Web Services
  • Passion for writing high quality reusable Infrastructure as Code in Terraform
  • Strong focus on repeatable engineering and CI/CD automation
  • Willingness to lead by example, learn from others, and teach others
  • Focus on best practices/tools and curiosity about engineering innovative solutions when gaps exist
  • A mindset for delivering reliable and maintainable systems
  • Experience with containers and container orchestration (Kubernetes desirable)
