Who we are

The Talos Intelligence Delivery Engineering organization plays a pivotal role in providing critical security intelligence, data, and tools to both the research teams and Cisco security email, firewall, networking & web products to protect our enterprise customers from cyberattacks.

Role and Responsibilities

We are looking for an outstanding senior software engineer to help develop our products, e.g., a highly motivated, disciplined, creative, and ambitious engineer to deliver high-availability, high-performance web and data services.

What you’ll do

  • Work with a team of likeminded professionals to migrate the Talos Web Intelligence pipeline into the cloud.
  • Solve exciting security problems by writing highly scalable and reusable code.
  • Actively participate in an Agile / Scrum team to deliver high-quality feature releases with every release sprint.
  • Engage with QA, Automation, and DevOps team members to ensure successful completion, deployment, maintenance, and operations of solutions.
  • Provide mentoring, guidance, and code reviews to influence individuals towards team standards. P* articipate in the weekly on-call rotation.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 10+ years of object-oriented software development experience.
  • An outstanding programmer in one or more development languages of Scala, Python, or Go.
  • Strong communication and team collaboration skills including conflict resolution.
  • Experience developing cloud-based applications and expertise in Microservices Architecture, tools like * Kubernetes and PaaS platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, or OpenStack.
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in CS/EE or equivalent.

Nice To Have

  • Data management experience is beneficial.
  • Experience with technologies such as Spark, Kafka, Redis, Parquet and Protobuf.
  • You aren’t afraid to argue about the finer nuances of TCP/IP, gRPC, HTTP/2, or HTTP Pipelining.
  • People come to you seeking guidance for your expertise with Unix/Linux.
  • Understanding of Software design patterns, SDLC, Behavior Driven Development (BDD), Continuous Integration, and Continuous Deployment.
  • Background in Security and Networking with a strong understanding of Web (e.g., RFC7540).
  • Keeps current with security journals and happenings.
  • A Master’s degree is beneficial.
