Who We Are

Talos Intelligence Delivery Engineering (TIDE) organization plays a pivotal role in providing critical security intelligence, data, and cloud services to both the research teams and Cisco security email, web, enterprise networking, and firewall products to protect our enterprise customers from cyberattacks.

About The Role

We’re looking for a dedicated Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) with software solutions or operations background; experienced professional in designing and operating large-scale highly available distributed systems in the cloud, capable of handling billions of requests per day.

You’ll be responsible to work with our DevOps teams to improve availability, reduce latency, increase performance, implement process rigor, build monitoring, fixing complex problems, and conducting capacity planning.

What you’ll do

  • Collaborate and work closely with Talos development engineering teams to ensure that the Talos Cloud Services and end-to-end infrastructure are designed and optimized for availability, latency and performance.
  • Be the key liaison between application owners and our infrastructure providers with design, implementation, monitoring, and standard process with solution offering in mind.
  • Design, deploy, and maintain cloud native services in AWS that are elastic and resilient to failure.
  • Participate in on-call rotation and contribute to improve 24x7 incident response.
  • Capacity planning and utilization estimation for our cloud security applications and help teams prepare for growth.
  • Fix and debug issues across our infrastructure and platform services from the solution and application-level perspective.

Required Skills

  • Expert on cloud technologies and cloud providers such as AWS and Azure.
  • Ability to write high quality code in Python, Go, Scala, or equivalent languages.
  • Profile and Trace applications using technologies such as Datadog or AppDynamics.
  • Ability to design and implement scalable and highly resilient solutions.
  • Good understanding of Unix/Linux systems, the kernel, system libraries, file systems, and client-server protocols.
  • Strong Infrastructure as Code skills, ideally with Terraform, CI/CD pipeline and Kubernetes.
  • Monitor deployment and change management processes across the entire TIDE cloud portfolio.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong sense of ownership, drive and attention to detail.
  • Technical Solution Program management skills is a plus.
